Our story

From Brooklyn beginnings to Richmond homes

Leo DeLise and his twin sister, Loretta, grew up as first-generation Americans — children of Italian immigrants who started life in Brooklyn, New York. It was there that the family found Benjamin Moore — and we still use those paints today to stay true to that history.

In the 1940s, Leo earned a living painting cars under the Kosciuszko Bridge. That early craft — patience, prep, and pride in a clean finish — became part of the family’s way of working.

Today, I Heard You Paint Houses carries that lineage into residential painting across Richmond, Virginia — careful work for homes that deserve it.
